Bumpy Flight Crew Roles
Pick a lane before taxi: who flies, who walks the aisle, and who carries the wrench.
Bumpy Flight does not ship a class select screen. It ships a fuselage full of jobs and assumes your lobby will sort itself. This hub is that sort. Read it before you fight over the Pilot seat, then open the child pages for the job you actually want to main.
The three working titles that matter are Pilot, cabin crew, and engineer. Passenger is the fourth job the official loop still names: sit still so cabin work is possible. Luggage and fuel are shared chores that happen before those titles matter. If you need a party-size cheat sheet, use the crew planner. If you want a ranked take on which job wins games, use the crew role tier list.
Why roles exist even without a menu
Every failed public flight has the same screenshot: four people in the cockpit, bags on the tarmac, a passenger on the floor, and nobody at the engine. Roles are how you refuse that screenshot. They are social contracts, not stats. The Pilot is not a stronger avatar. The engineer does not unlock a hidden repair tree. You just stop doing each other’s jobs at the worst time.
BETA will add aircraft and cosmetics as you complete flights. It has not published a named roster of planes worth theorycrafting. Do not wait for a character wiki that does not exist. Main a job.
How to pick
Pick Pilot if you can meter throttle and you will stay seated when a friend screams. Read controls first. Pick cabin if you like checklists and walking circuits. Pick engineer if you remember rooms. Pick passenger if the lobby is already full of workers and you want the complete more than a clip. If you are new, do not pick Pilot on a friend’s serious complete. Start on bags or a seat, then cabin, then the yoke.
In a two-stack, Pilot plus sweeper is the only honest split. The sweeper is cabin and engineer in one body. In a four-stack, name all three jobs plus a floater. In a twenty-player public server, still name the three. Everyone else is overflow or they are scenery.
Shared ground work
Before titles, someone loads luggage, someone fuels, someone boards. Those tasks are in the pre-flight checklist and in how to play. Do not skip them because you “main Pilot.” A Pilot who takes off dirty is just the first person to see the crash.
After takeoff, stay in your lane unless the emergencies guide says your job is the one named on the HUD. Then move, finish, and return.
What this hub will not do
We will not invent named characters, hidden traits, or aircraft-specific crews the official page has not listed. When Dexx publishes a real roster, these pages will grow a fourth child. Until then, the meta is human: who talks, who stays seated, who knows where the wrench is.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What are the Bumpy Flight roles?
Pilot, cabin crew, and engineer, plus shared ground jobs like luggage and fuel. The game does not lock them in a menu.
What is the best role for a beginner?
Cabin or luggage. Fly the plane after you have watched one complete from the aisle.
Can one player cover every role?
Solo, you must. It is slower and more fragile. A two-stack already feels like a different game.
