How to Handle Bumpy Flight Emergencies

Read the warning, assign one mover, keep the Pilot seated, and fix the plane before the cabin eats the run.

How to Handle Emergencies

Emergencies are the product. Bumpy Flight would be a short taxi sim if nothing broke. The official description promises unexpected failures, repairs, and a crew that has to answer them together. This guide is the how-to-protect / how-to-fix page: what to do when the HUD lights up and everyone starts running.

If you want a ranked order instead of a narrative, open the emergency priority tier list next. If you want the job that lives on these prompts, open the engineer and cabin crew pages.

The six-step loop

  1. Read the warning. Do not move until you know whether it names a part, a tool, or a passenger.
  2. Say the job in chat or voice. “Engine, I have wrench” is enough.
  3. Pilot stays in the seat. Co-pilot, if you have one, watches instruments and calls heading.
  4. The assigned player grabs the item from the supply point they already scouted on the ground. The published kit lives on supplies.
  5. Complete the interaction, then confirm the warning cleared.
  6. Return to your lane. Do not tour the cabin “just in case.”

That loop is boring on purpose. Panic is how you get three people in the engine bay and a plane in a dive.

Aircraft problems

Engine failures are the celebrity emergency. The prompt may ask for an announcement, a tool, or a visit to a specific nacelle. The wrench is the example tool players already mention in beginner writeups. Learn where that tool lives during prep, not after the fire light. The pre-flight checklist includes a “touch the supply terminal” step for this reason.

If the interaction fails once, try again before you declare a BETA soft-lock. If it fails twice, have a second player attempt it while the first goes back to cabin. Do not rotate the entire lobby through the same broken prompt.

Fuel emergencies are usually preventable. They happen because nobody ran the bowser. If you are already airborne and light, the Pilot eases off SHIFT and looks for the shortest legal path to a landing. There is no mid-air miracle can.

Cabin problems

Passengers ask for blankets, medicine, food, or help back to a seat. They can also go unconscious. These are not flavor. Ignored cabin events stack until the flight is no longer completable even if the wings still work. Cabin crew should patrol on a circuit, not stand in the cockpit door giving advice.

Medicine and blankets come from the same supply family as tools. Know the terminal. Carry the item to the person, do not wave it from first class. If two passengers yell at once, treat the injured or unconscious one first. Comfort items wait. That ranking is written out on the emergency tier list.

Turbulence and “the plane is just angry”

Turbulence is a stay-in-your-lane event. Pilot keeps the aircraft smooth. Cabin holds a seat or a handrail and resumes requests when the bump passes. Engineer does not start random repairs because the camera shook. If a real warning appears during the bumps, then you enter the six-step loop.

Some chaos is a bug. The BETA notes exist so you do not invent lore for a desynced passenger. Retry, then continue. Reset only if the objective cannot complete.

Communication that does not flood chat

Useful calls are short: “wrench on left,” “med on 12B,” “Pilot stay.” Useless calls are “BRO BRO BRO.” If you are in a public server with no mic, the crew planner still helps you pick a default job before takeoff so the first emergency is not a debate.

What not to do

Do not leave the Pilot seat to be a hero. Do not install a repair script. Do not ignore the cabin because “flying is the real game.” The real game is the whole aircraft. Completes live on the other side of that fact — see how to complete a flight when you want the landing half.

Handle one emergency. Then the next. That is the whole skill.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Who should fix an engine failure?

The engineer or a designated floater. The Pilot stays on the controls unless you are truly solo.

What if passengers and the engine fail at the same time?

Keep the plane flying first, then send one player to the engine and one to the worst passenger. Comfort requests wait.

Where do I find the wrench or medicine?

Scout the supply terminal during pre-flight. Do not start that search after the warning appears.
