How to Play Bumpy Flight

Bumpy Flight is a Roblox co-op vehicle sim where your server becomes the crew of one aircraft. You do not win by being the best dogfighter. You win by preparing the plane, leaving the ground, keeping passengers alive, and reaching the destination after things go wrong. The official page is blunt about the BETA state: expect bugs, unfinished features, and frequent updates. Play anyway, but play with a plan.

This is the how-to-play document. It assumes you can join the experience from the official Roblox page and that you have at least one friend or a patient public lobby. If you are queueing with a stack, open the friends guide in another tab. If you are alone, still read the role section so you know which jobs you are stacking on one avatar.

What a session actually is

A session is one flight. Before takeoff you load luggage, board passengers, answer early requests, and refuel. After takeoff you fly, repair, and babysit the cabin until you land. Completing that loop levels you up and unlocks aircraft and cosmetics. Crashing, idling, or ignoring the cabin burns the same time for no progress.

Public servers cap around twenty players. That sounds like a lot of hands until half the lobby sits in seats filming the chaos. Treat every extra person as optional. The core jobs are Pilot, cabin helper, and engineer. The crew roles hub spells out who owns which panic.

Bumpy Flight in-depth tutorial (up to date)

Your first ten minutes

1. Join and let the place load. BETA maps hitch.
2. Press CTRL if the mouse is locked, then open any tutorial prompts.
3. Do not steal the Pilot seat yet. Walk the cabin and the cargo area.
4. Load every bag you can see and get it onto the aircraft.
5. Help passengers to seats and listen for blanket or medicine requests.
6. Find the fuel interaction and top the tanks.
7. Only then sit in the cockpit and read controls.
8. Advance throttle with SHIFT, rotate with W/S and A/D, and climb smoothly.

If you skip steps 4–6, you will take off into a flight that is already failing. The pre-flight checklist exists so you do not skip them twice.

Roles in plain language

Pilot owns the yoke. Their job is a stable climb, a stable cruise, and a landing that does not snap the gear. They should not leave the seat for a wrench. Details live on the Pilot page.

Cabin crew owns people. Blankets, medicine, seating, and the panic that spreads when someone is unconscious. Read cabin crew if you like running the aisle.

A two-stack can cover Pilot plus a floater who does cabin and repairs. A four-stack can assign every job and still have a spare for luggage. Use the crew planner if your friend group argues every queue.

How to think during the flight

Look at the objective or warning before you run. The game is trying to tell you whether this is a passenger problem or an aircraft problem. Pilot stays on the controls. Someone else moves. What success looks like

A successful first session is not a perfect landing.
